5 Hacks to Make Your Roses Last Longer In Vases

1. Use Soda

The key to make your roses last longer is to water it regularly. Although water is important for your rose bouquet, that doesn’t mean you couldn’t change it to other substance. Soda can be a good replacement.

First, of course clean your vase from dirt, then pour ¼ cup of soda. Put your fresh cut roses into your vase that contains soda and it’s done.

2. Place Your Vases In Fridge

3. Use Coins

Coins, especially copper penny can help your roses stay longer in vase. They act as an acidifier that fights bacteria growth in your flower bouquet.

On day 4, after adding a copper penny, the blooms will open up nicely. But you also have to be careful because it also may have caused the flower to open too quickly, resulting in a few wilting flowers by day 7. 

4. Adding Aspirin

Aspirin is indeed works to treat your headache, however, it can also be used to lengthen your roses age in vase. Mix 1 crushed asprin into your vase of fresh flower.

It was believed that aspirin could lower the pH level of the water, preventing it from wilting. The result? Aspirin could do the job, but it is not as effecting as soda or low temperature in fridge.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar and Sugar

You could use apple cider vinegar and sugar in your house for another function, like preventing roses from wilting. Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of sugar into the water in your vase before adding your flower.

Vinegar acts as an antibacterial agent while the sugar is good for additional flower food. Although you could get flower food from florist near you, sugar is not less effective for plants nourishment and it is easy to get.
